Students in grades 6-10 begin taking the PSAT annually to become familiar with the process and to help eliminate test stress. By the 11th grade, each student will have taken the PSAT 5 times. Students critique their PSAT test and make corrections. They completely learn the SAT testing process which helps ensure college entrance and academic scholarships.
TPA’s students are required to make 90 or higher in all subjects.
TPA uses “the Gateway to College” program which provides specific counseling on college entrance: This program has many advantages including:
1. Selection – Help determine which college meets the needs and wishes of students
2. Application - Assistance in completing applications and entrance essays
3. Funding - Assistance in locating funding sources and helping to prepare financial and scholarship forms
4. Enrollment - Preparing student to go to college once a college has been selected
5. Online College Mentoring Program- Continuing to assist NEW College Preparatory Academy alumni when they are college students with reading, research, test preparation, and writing
BONUS: A Dual-Credit track is offered to ambitious students so they can take college courses or prepare for CLEP and DANTES exams for college credit.
